Guardians of the Tragic Poet

Deadline Art books coming of age
Deadline Artists are firmly committed to finishing and publishing the works as a part of the process. We used «Guardians of the Tragic Poet» to experiment with the format and test different publishing alternatives.
Going forward all projects will have the book production embedded as a part of the creative process, and our usual rule that the work must be finished before we embark the final train, boat, plane or car for our separate destination will now include the book.
All the books are available from mentalpropell.com and our partner bookstores in Norway and Sweden.
The artworks are also available as fine art prints on Hanemühle photo rag paper - here a fragment from the book down at Vaktbackar on southern Gotland (“Sudret”)

There are several ways to tell the story of «Guardians of the Tragic Poet». The most straightforward is probably that it is a deadline art project where the to men in suits return to Gotland in troubled times to see what had changed there - and in ourselves.
Another way to look at it is as a return. Gotland was where the dresscode methodology found its shape, and where the landscape responded so beautiful to being changed by the men in suits.
It is also farewell. In the autumn we will do our last interventions in these classic English suits, and will open another dress code chapter, with new suits and new places to explore.
You can look at it any way you like, but we hope you enjoy this book with 19 fragments from the island life «some time in February» as the line (almost) goes.
The book is available from here and through partner bookstores in Sweden and Norway.

Working with Deadline Art you are committed to producing a finished work before you return to your daily life. In this project we produced the book and the prints for an exhibition in parallel and with the book published we are looking for a great venue to share the prints!
